la distancia total alrededor de una figura plana: suma las longitudes de todos sus lados.
Ejemplo
Un cuarto de 12 ft por 8 ft tiene un perímetro de 12 + 8 + 12 + 8 = 40 ft.

perimeter (P) — the total distance around the outside of a flat shape: add the lengths of all its sides.
A 12 ft by 8 ft room has perimeter 12 + 8 + 12 + 8 = 40 ft.
