This is the hardest of the full-length practice tests, built like the real GED® Science test. Take it only after you have done well on the earlier practice tests. Treat it like test day: find a quiet place, put your phone away, and let the timer run.
- 34 questions, 90 minutes, in one section. The timer runs for the whole test.
- Most questions are based on a short passage, an experiment, a data table, a graph or a diagram. Several questions share the same stimulus, so read it carefully once and come back to it as needed.
- Topics: about 40% life science, 40% physical science and 20% Earth and space science. Many questions also test scientific practices: designing investigations, reasoning from data, judging claims, and using formulas and probability.
- Expect more multi-step questions than on earlier tests: combining a graph with a passage, converting units, and spotting tempting wrong answers.
- The on-screen TI-30XS MultiView calculator is available for every question. When a question needs a formula, the formula is given in the question or the passage.
- Question types include multiple choice, fill-in-the-blank, drop-down, drag-and-drop, select-all and hot spot (click on a graph or diagram). Read each question's directions carefully.
- There is no penalty for guessing. Never leave a question blank: eliminate choices you know are wrong and make your best guess.
- Use Flag for review to mark questions you want to revisit. Before time runs out, use the review screen to go back to flagged or unanswered questions.
- Pace yourself: about 2½ minutes per question. If a calculation is taking too long, flag it and move on.
When the test ends you'll see your estimated score, every answer explained step by step, and the skills to study next. Good luck!
The timer keeps running if you leave the page, just like on the real test.
