This practice test is built like the real GED® Mathematical Reasoning test.

  • 46 questions, 115 minutes. The timer runs for the whole test.
  • Part 1 (questions 1–5): no calculator. Once you move on to Part 2, you cannot return to Part 1, so answer and review these five questions before you continue.
  • Part 2 (questions 6–46): calculator allowed. You can use the on-screen TI-30XS MultiView calculator and the formula sheet for every question in this part.
  • Question types include multiple choice, fill-in-the-blank, drop-down, drag-and-drop, select-all and hot spot (click on a graph or figure).
  • There is no penalty for guessing. Answer every question, even if you are not sure.
  • Use Flag for review to mark questions you want to come back to. Before time runs out, use the review screen to check flagged and unanswered questions in Part 2.
  • Pace yourself: about 2½ minutes per question. If a question takes too long, make your best guess, flag it, and move on.

When you finish, you will see your score, the correct answers and a full step-by-step explanation for every question.

Time

On the real GED, extra time is given only with an approved accommodation. Practice with the time you will have.
