axis (x-axis, y-axis)
eje (eje x, eje y)
a reference line along the edge of a graph; the x-axis runs across and usually shows what was changed, and the y-axis runs up and shows what was measured.
Example
In a graph of plant height over time, the x-axis shows days and the y-axis shows height in cm.
